Digital Wedding Forum Convention – Carefree, Arizona

Friday, January 30th, 2009

A couple of weeks ago I attended the Digital Wedding Forum Convention in beautiful Carefree, Arizona. It was such an educational, inspirational and motivational experience! I had an amazing time with my fellow Nashville photographers and look forward to getting to know everyone better. Although the majority of my day was spent in seminars, I did find the time to get out and shoot my beautiful surroundings. One day Andrea Hallgren, Mary Crow and myself made a little day trip to stunning Sedona. We had such a perfect day that it was hard to leave! Below are a few of my favorite images from my Arizona trip!

Ember Larson & Aaron Disrud Wedding – Fargo, ND

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

This next posting is a very personal one as the groom is my little brother! I was joking with Ember and my brother and mentioned that the post for this blog should be “my big fat Norwegian wedding.” They thought that was funny! For those of you who have never visited North Dakota or Minnesota you may not get my joke. Let me explain! A large majority of people who live in North Dakota and Minnesota have a Scandinavian heritage and it is reflected in the names. For the record, Larson and Disrud are both Norwegian names. Many people, Ember’s family and mine, and are still connected to their heritage and proud of it, even being a combination of other ethnic backgrounds. Now back to the bride and goom!

Ember and Aaron were married on December 6, 2008 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross(most Norwegians are Lutheran), in West Fargo, North Dakota. Since the wedding was in North Dakota, Ember’s wish for snow was granted and she had a beautiful, but cold, white wedding! Their reception was kicked off in true Norwegian fashion at the lovely Hjemkomst Center, in Moorehead, MN. What makes the Hjemkomst Center unique is that it houses none other than a replica of a Viking ship, that was built by a man named Robert Asp and his family, that was sailed to Norway in 1984. How cool is that! Anyway Ember and Aaron had a beautiful and classic wedding that turned out perfectly! As I mentioned in my Thanksgiving post, our Dad suffered a massive heart attack on November 13th. When all of this went down we were uncertain if Dad would be able to make it to the wedding. We were all thrilled when the doctor gave his blessing for Dad to attend the wedding. Ember and Aaron’s wedding was a true celebration of love and life! Below are a few of my favorite images showing the spirit of the day!

Dorian & Jaime’s Wedding – Nashville, TN

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Dorian & Jaime  were married on November 15, 2008 at The Hermitage – Home of President Andrew Jackson. The ceremony was a beautiful candlelight ceremony at the Hermitage Church. The reception took place at the rustic and charming Cabin-by-the Spring. Despite a slight chill in the air, Dorian and Jaime’s romantic wedding day could not have been any better! Here are a few of my favorite photos from the beautiful and glowing couples wedding!
